Description of the Property:
The Little Nell is the only 5-star, 5-diamond Aspen Hotel. This luxurious mountain hotel is the only hotel in the heart of Aspen that boasts ski-to-door access. It features an on site restaurant with an award-wining wine list and a tavern on-site. Summer, Fall, and Winter activities are all available from the property. Offering farm-fresh Italian cuisine, Element 47 restaurant is on-site at Aspen Little Nell. The restaurant offers world-class dining with wine suggestions from a master sommelier. Serving lunch and dinner, the on-site Ajax Tavern offers a Franco-American bistro-style menu with daily specials. Little Nell Adventures offers custom designed fly fishing, cycling, and other outdoor adventure experiences from the property.

Description of the Location:
Nestled in the heart of the White River National Forest and surrounded by the peaks of the Elk Mountains, Aspen is well known as a ski destination, but the town’s history and offerings go much deeper. Aspen lives up to its winter reputation. Four ski mountains make up the terrain for the world-renowned Aspen Snowmass resort. Aspen Mountain, locally referred to as Ajax, rises up directly from downtown, bringing a whole new meaning to ski-in/ski-out. In the late 20th century, the city became a popular retreat for celebrities. Aspen has some of the most expensive real estate in the United States. It remains a popular tourist destination, with outdoor recreation in the surrounding White River National Forest serving as a summertime complement to the four ski areas in the vicinity.

Description of the Training:
Gain invaluable skills and knowledge in the Food and Beverage department of a world-leading luxury hotel/resort through a J-1 program at The Little Nell or step into the kitchen and learn from the best chefs in the American hospitality industry. Train in a diverse and multicultural environment, under the guidance and leadership of industry leaders in the guest services field as you rotate through different outlets on the property. This rotational program is designed to give you exposure to the international hospitality industry and give you the experience to excel in your career when you return to your home country.

Description of the Position:
Train in all areas of Culinary/ Food & Beverage, including, but not limited to: Banquets, Pastry and Outlet kitchens/ Front of House Operations, Banquet Operations, Supervisory Development:
• Learn to ensure high quality and consistency of service as per Hotel’s standards;
• Welcome guests and colleagues in a polite and friendly manner;
• Train with professionals across multiple outlets to perform tasks as needed;
• Ensure compliance of all Hotel's standards;
• Learn to strive to achieve departmental targets;
• Ensure cleanliness of work areas;
• During training, ensure to be in compliance with all Hotel's health and safety policies;
• Perform all other reasonable duties as needed.

About you

• Conversational English required;
• Must be a current student of a Hospitality or Tourism / Culinary Arts post-secondary academic institution;
• Or recent graduate (less than 12 months ago) of a Hospitality or Tourism / Culinary Arts post-secondary academic institution;
• Or a graduate of a Hospitality or Tourism / Culinary Arts post-secondary academic institution (more than 12 months ago,) with 12 months of verifiable related work experience;
• Or must have 5 years of verifiable related work experience.

• Positive attitude;
• Good communication skills;
• Commitment to delivering high levels of customer service;
• A polished and professional appearance and compliance with Hotel grooming standards;
• Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations;
• Ability to work calmly while meeting deadlines.
